“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much"
Luke 16:10
Just like faith, all you need is a little...and it will grow into something bigger than you expected.
You do not need to have a lot of money to make a diffference in someone's life. With just five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus and his disciples were able to feed five thousand people (Luke 9:13). With just fifteen dollars (and some groceries that have been sitting in a pantry), our TGN volunteers were able to put together a meal that fed the stomach's of twenty hungry people not only for lunch but also dinner. The amount of money you spend does not matter, it is about your intentions and what is in your heart. Jesus gave thanks to the bread and fish and it mulitplied enough to feed five thousand. In our situation, we gave thanks to the amount of money God blessed us with and we were able to feed more than what we expected. Glory Be To God!
A Quick Lunch
Our TGN volunteers went to the the local discount grocery store and purchased 20 pre-made sandwiches for only fifty cents each. Pair it with two packs of cookies bought from the dollar tree (only a dollar twenty five cents a pack) which hold ten servings, and some water then you have a pefect quick lunch for twenty people.
You Might Have to Improvise
To feed others, you do not always have to go out and buy food. Most of us have goods that have been sitting in our pantrys, fridge or even deep freezer that are still good to eat. That is exactly what our TGN members did to feed 20 hungry people for dinner. In their deep freezer they found chicken breast, and in the pantry some rice and corn. While shopping for lunch earlier, our TGN volunteers bought pastry dough for one dollar and fifty cents. Put them all together and it makes a perfect meal.
Do Not Lose Faith
Do not let the amount of money you have discourage you from helping others. A little bit can go a long way if you only have faith. Faith can move mountains, so let it move you today.
